The art of leather
An unmistakable weave of leather developed by the maison in the early 70s and which has become the undisputed symbol of Bottega Veneta.
A discreet but recognizable luxury, an unmistakable synonym of quality and luxury craftsmanship. When Bottega Veneta introduced the weave, at the time, the bags were generally rigid and square, because they were made of sturdy saddlery leather. The artisans of Bottega Veneta used, instead, a light leather, usually used to create gloves, which allowed them to create soft and flexible bags. When Tomas Maier joined the company in 2001 as creative director, the Intertwining was the starting point of his vision, because it perfectly represented the brand’s DNA. Deeply connected to the traditions of the Italian master leather craftsmen and long celebrated for its extraordinary leather goods, Bottega Veneta has become one of the most important brands in the world.
The motto of the masion is “When your own initials are enough” and summarizes a discreet and sophisticated philosophy that extends to all the brand’s expressions. A symbol that represents an expression of craftsmanship made in Italy at the highest levels and reveals the relaxed luxury of the maison, through the quality of the materials and the traditional craftsmanship of the Veneto. This rich and generous territory, where timeless projects created by man coexist in perfect harmony with a serene nature, welcomes some of the greatest master craftsmen. Techniques carefully preserved and handed down from generation to generation, bringing with them an intuitive vision of the product and a modern aesthetic sensitivity. The result is an incomparable craftsmanship that has been the hallmark of Bottega Veneta for a long time through the weaving.
