Immerse yourself in nature

The Villa Cilnia resort is an authentic, unspoilt place in the Tuscan countryside around Arezzo, where you can come into close contact with nature and a mesmerising landscape. The original farm dates back to the 14th century and was built where in 70 BC Gaius Maecenas Cilnio was born, the historian then gave fame to the Latin poets Horace and Virgil.

Villa Cilnia is the ideal destination for a relaxing and healthful holiday on the picturesque hills of Pieve al Bagnoro, just 5 minutes from the centre of Arezzo, an effective antidote to everyday hectic life, surrounded by greenery and art. Overlooking sweet and fragrant vineyards, the resort offers peace and tranquillity. The smaller rooms, ideal for short stays, are located in what once were the warehouses of a former farm. The other rooms inside the country house are divided between the ground floor and top floor, with the original stairs still in place, and no structural changes to the former building.

Villa Cilnia also boasts a spa, a small gem dominated by blue hues and where  water is the main element used to regenerate body and soul. But Villa Cilnia is also a wine producing farm that extends around the 14th century building. The company produces, ages and bottles its own wines on an area of over 12 hectares of southern facing vineyards at 250-300 meters above sea level.

The vines are part of the Chianti Colli Arezzo area, a D.O.C.G. demarcated for the first time in 1932. The drained calcareous soil with marl and clay is cultivated with Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Pinot Blanc and Traminer, which are hand harvested between late September and early October.
