Soft summer nuances
Light blue is one of the most beautiful and attractive colours. A romantic colour too, that is well suited to sartorial cuts, flowing lines and precious fabrics. A colour that experienced moments of glory in the 90s in opposition to the damp and grey Seattle climate, which had influenced the grunge style. A colour that also symbolizes an environmental and purist conscience, recalling the cool air at the end of the day.
Peach is the colour of skin, of summer and of freedom, even in shades that turn towards pale pink and nude. Light peach is delicate but far from innocent, as it recalls the body and its sensual nuances. A colour mainly used for underwear – since the post-war period it represents a changed attitude towards fashion and the body. This soft colour is almost a second skin. It’s neutral and used by the likes of Giorgio Armani to show a more peaceful attire, lowering the tones with garments that cover the body and soften imperfections, for a renewed elegance full of charm.
And finally comes opal – a colour that is difficult to define. It takes its name from a gem that changes with the light. This tone has something magical that recalls children’s games and wonder, a soft, non-aggressive green with a relaxed sense of aesthetic, ideal for summer garments.
Finally, off-white and shades of cream couldn’t go amiss from this pastel palette. The colour of ancient Greek peplums, with a mythological but not necessarily austere flavour, is ideal for sunny summery days.
