The whole world eagerly awaits the 100th show in June
Something special happens every six months in Florence, when the four days of Pitti Immagine Men’s Fashion Week transforms the city of the Renaissance into the fashion capital of the world. Men’s fashion rules the roost and Florence fills with cool, stylish men from every part of the world.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING PITTI UOMO
The events, the runway shows, the parties and the city centre boutiques come alive with music, performances and chemistry that create pure adrenalin and energy throughout the city’s most evocative locations, from secret apartments to the salons of Palazzo Pitti, private gardens on the Florence hills and noble palaces. Many still remember Vanessa Beecroft’s performance at the Giardino dell’Orticultura, Karl Lagerfeld at the Galleria Palatina, Roberto Cavalli, whose 2006 show staged on the Ponte Vecchio featured Naomi Campbell swathed in emerald green, and Thom Browne’s presentation in the Aula Magna of the Istituto di Scienze Militari Aeronautiche with the models lined up next to office desks.
PITTI UOMO No. 99 IN FEBRUARY AND 70 YEARS OF ITALIAN FASHION
This year the winter edition of Pitti Immagine Uomo has been delayed to 21-23 February 2021 and will be the occasion to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the birth of Italian fashion, which made its official debut in Florence in 1951. It will certainly be online, even if we hope it can be held face to face.
PITTI UOMO No. 100 IN JUNE. BACK WITH A BANG
The event of the year, however, will certainly be the one everyone has been looking forward to for some time – Pitti Uomo No. 100, which will be held from 19 to 22 June 2021. An event that will have all the flavour of a great celebration for such a special attainment, and because it will see the global fashion industry back in action, more vital than ever after more than a year of pandemic.
Lined up for the occasion are fabulous events in unimaginable locations, many of which will open their doors for the first time, famous designers and top men’s’ fashion brands. Stand by with camera at the ready.
