Contemporary architecture with a history

Located just a short distance from Florence’s artistic heart and overlooking the river and the historic Cascine Park, once the Medici family’s hunting grounds, is what Vogue Australia describes as “one of the top seven Italian luxury hotels to see at least once in a lifetime”. We are talking about Riva Lofts Florence, an elegant urban retreat set on the left bank of the Arno river, just steps away from the city’s hustle and bustle.

A building with an age-old history: a factory in the 1800s, an artisan workshop complex throughout the 1900s and, starting from 1999, the house-atelier of architect Claudio Nardi, who later converted it into the amazing boutique hotel we see today. From here one can easily explore downtown Florence by foot or bicycle, or enjoy the hotel’s peace and quiet by sunbathing by the pool or in the garden, or, in wintertime, by just relaxing around the big fireplace in the large common area.

Vaulted ceilings and stone walls blend in perfectly with the visionary, contemporary interior design which is, however, warm and welcoming, with vintage furniture adding to the cozy atmosphere.

11 elegantly well-structured lofts, each with its own personality and private entrance, divided into: standard lofts, about 30-square-meter wide, ideal for a couple travelling alone or taking time to relax; deluxe, up to 40-square-meter wide; superior, up to 45 square meters and the suite, the most exclusive room, a loft which spreads across up to 100 square meters and several levels, overlooking the bank of the river or the city’s skyline. The deluxe, superior and suite rooms are all equipped with kitchenette designed by Claudio Nardi himself, in order for guests to enjoy their stay in Florence in an independent manner.
