To work in fashion is a dream for those who love the catwalks, don’t miss a show, are up to date with all the trends each season and adore handling soft textiles, shiny ribbons and colored reels of thread.

For those who manage to distinguish between what’s IN and what is absolutely OUT and have the makings of a really cool fashion-hunter, here are the best fashion schools around the world, according to Fashionista blog:

1. Central Saint Martins (London)
Among the subjects we find textiles and jewelry as well as fashion design. They claim Stella McCartney and John Galliano among their graduates.

2. Parsons – The New School for Design (New York – USA)
In their program we find among the subjects Fashion Design, Fashion Studies and Fashion Marketing. The majority of the teachers work in the fashion business. Donna Karen is among the graduates from this school, together with Marc Jacobs and Tom Ford.

3. Bunka Fashion College (Tokyo – Japan)
It offers Fashion Design, fashion Creation and Technology, Marketing, Accessories and Textiles. The only problem is that it requires a good knowledge of Japanese! Important names like Kenzo Takada, Junya Watanabe and Yohji Yamamoto studied here.

4. Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts (Antwerp – Belgium)
This is a school subsidized by the government, also for foreign students, and it is very exclusive because it only takes 140 students in fashion design. Being elite, very innovative and avant-garde, means it is a very serious school, requiring many sacrifices.

5. FIT – Fashion Institute of Technology (New York – USA)
It offers a rich variety of subjects such as fashion design, illustration and style, but also business and marketing programs. Calvin Klein graduated from here.
