A millennial cave

Grotta Giusti – the spa resort of the Italian Hospitality Collection hotel group is located in Monsummano Terme in the heart of Tuscany and is considered the World’s Best Thermal Grotto Spa 2018, i.e. the best natural thermal cave in the world.

Grotta Giusti, the biggest thermal cave in Europe, is a thousand years old. This marvellous cavity stretches over two hundred meters in the resort’s basement, offering a natural haven divided into three areas called Paradiso, Purgatorio and Inferno, with temperatures ranging from 28° to 34°C. The vapour from the grotto boasts therapeutic properties, while the caves are replete with stalactites and stalagmites and underground labyrinths with spacious caverns. The large vaults in the rock form spacious rooms where you can stop for a natural and detoxifying steam bath. At the bottom of the cave is the Limbo, a crystal-clear pond of warm thermal waters, with a temperature of 36°C in winter and summer alike.

Inside the cave humidity levels reach 98%, and each room has a different temperature which combined with the thermal vapours is beneficial for the skin and the body. Grotta Giusti welcomes guests in a 19th century villa brought back to its full splendour and surrounded by a 40-hectare park. It is the perfect place to relax and completely unwind by following the exclusive Equilibrium programme, which offers a savvy blend of nutritional tips, relaxation techniques and spa treatments, to achieve the ideal balance between body and mind. A large 750-square-meter pond, with state-of-the-art technology, lets you pamper yourself with the innovative whirlpools and the natural massage offered by the spectacular waterfall that embellishes and makes the thermal pool unique.
