For the #Pleindynasty summer collection, Philipp Plein opens the gates of his private mansion La Jungle Du Roi– the king’s jungle – on the French riviera. An unmatched show, both excessive and visionary, in full Plein style.

The collection is loaded with high voltage energy and inspired by the 80s cult TV series Dynasty. Philipp Plein women are embodied by lead role Alexis Colby’s cheeky attitude as portrayed by Joan Collins: a jaw-dropping, intelligent, rich and ruthless woman with a good dose of glam-rock. Dyed hair and sparkling nails are matched with sexy sequin dresses, while bomber jackets and hooded sweatshirts come decorated with palm leaves; miniskirts are in studded denim, while trousers are in leather or transparent pvc and the customary metallic skulls.

Men have also adapted to the full Dynasty style. Shirts and outfits come with printed dollar signs; tailored biker jackets come in shades of turquoise while tuxedos are studded with sequins and paired with decorated cowboy hats. Yet, these playful lads put on a poker face when it comes to business and making millions. For the evening, the Philipp Plein women sports the #pleindynasty theme in an elegant and sophisticated universe with ultra-luxurious dresses designed for exclusive red carpet events, ranging from chiffon and lace bodices to large leopard prints with a rock ‘n roll flavour and python-style dresses with a biker touch. From head to high heels, Plein chimes with strength and seduction.

However, the collection also has a softer and more romantic side with floral motifs that decorate denim overalls, military-style jackets and bell-bottom silk trousers. Softer shapes and large volumes give out a soft relaxed vibe that is typical of the 70s, revealing a quieter sense of security.
