The legendary terrace overlooking Florence

The Bar and Restaurant, SE•STO on Arno is reopening. The legendary terrace of the The Westin Excelsior in Florence, historic hotel in Piazza Ognissanti and forever symbol of international hospitality, with its spectacular, exclusive panoramas of the River Arno and the whole city.

SE•STO on Arno, Roof Terrace at The Westin Excelsior is a “glass box”, a futuristic structure created with seamless windows that let in natural light and emphasise the whole enviable position, with a 360° view over the city of Florence, the River Arno and the hills that are their backdrop.

The Roof interiors feature a wide entrance with curved wall covered in soft upholstery, leading from the bar through to the restaurant. An oval element covered in polished metal separates the entrance to the restaurant from the bar, where it reflects the glass wall of the wine cellar, like a precious jewel in its setting. The bar, which is the key element in the glass room overlooking the River Arno, has a curved shape and it is made in wood and alabaster with back lighting and bronzed steel inserts. Along the outside terrace area, a body of water seamlessly joins SE•STO on Arno, with the flowing river, creating a magical atmosphere on the marvellous terrace overlooking Florence.

The materials used for the interiors and finishes are warm and natural, with wooden floors and wall coverings, with the exception of the entrance and facilities, which are in marble. Wooden walls and ceilings, together with columns and detailing in bronzed steel contributed to creating a setting that is both elegant and exclusive.

The furnishings pick up on a 60s theme without losing sight of comfort or the contemporary nature of the design. An elegant bar is a meeting point for all those seeking to enjoy that sunset aperitif, thanks to a wide selection of cocktails, skilfully prepared and mixed by the Head Barman and served on the splendid terrace with views over the whole of Florence. SE•STO on Arno is a timeless setting, a location permeated by the sheer beauty of Florence.
