The collateral events in Sanremo
During the days of the festival, Sanremo becomes the capital of Italian music. Outside the Ariston Theater, the city comes alive with many collateral events that amplify the festival and offer memorable moments not only of music.
The collateral events at the seventieth edition of the Festival widen and invade the city squares and the streets around the Ariston Theater where for the occasion in the adjacent via Mameli, a Red Carpet is set up on which the artists parade for access to the Theater.
Sanremo Sonora, in front of the nineteenth-century fountain in Piazza Bresca and will mainly host live music with ample space dedicated to a selection by genre, of national and local artists and 2 of the most appreciated DJs from the Sanremo public also in collaboration with important independent labels. Piazza Bresca is the true maritime heart of the city. The square will be creatively illuminated to give “further light” to the festival nightlife. A second stage, in Piazza Sardi, will instead point to a path of sound exploration in the last 70 years, through the music of artists and DJs of national caliber. In parallel, space will be given to the live broadcast of the 70th Italian Song Festival with the projection on 3 monitors of the event inside the Ariston Theater.
But the Song Festival is also an important stage for fashion, a showcase for the creations of the most important stylists on the world scene. The Fashion Side of Festival is a collateral exhibition curated by The Mall Sanremo together with Rai that tells the story of the Sanremo Festival, through the display of clothes of some of its protagonists. An evocative journey between past and present that tells the story of the relationship between music and fashion, a successful combination of passion and creativity. The Mall Sanremo is the promoter of a cultural heritage that has its roots in the territory to which it belongs to enhance its beauty in all its forms.
