Eyewear FW 2013/2014

1/9/2014 | Trends

One thing is absolutely clear: this year, when it comes to eyewear, designers did an excellent job thrilling fans of the oversized style. Magnificent pieces will be protecting our eyes this season, hidden behind large, dark or colored lenses, carved into irregular forms or with gracefully curving feminine lines.

Hands down, the winter season’s iconic pieces are the sunglasses from Fendi. Karl Lagerfeld, in all his flamboyance, has done it again. He plays with aggressive contours with a touch of punk in which the clean lines of the two-tone frames are embellished with tiny Swarovski crystals and soft fur trims in dramatic colors. These glasses are this year’s must-have item, coveted by those looking for a flawless outfit to show off on the ski slopes.

Two models from Valentino, in red and black, feature precious stones and studs, a nod to the shoes and bags of its absolutely distinctive, ever-popular, much-coveted Rockstud line.

Giorgio Armani goes in for a no-frills look with clean lines and vintage inspirations for all-black outfits. The glasses’ cat-eye form makes for a sophisticated, understated femininity.

Roberto Cavalli’s new models likewise feature classic frames and clean lines.

Wherever you want to go, however far, you’ll find the excellence of the best Italian fashion right here before your very eyes.
