Six months of music, theater, cinema, visual arts

Estate Fiorentina 2019 is an event along a whole season. Six months of music, theater, dance, cinema, visual arts, literature and concerts in Florence.

L’Estate Fiorentina looks at Florence from the top of its terraces with many events that will populate the great Parco delle Cascine, the amphitheater, the Teatro del Maggio that reopens its cavea that becomes one of the main appointment for music in the city. And then many great names, from Bolle to Cure, from Ed Sheeran to Woody Allen, from Ascanio Celestini to Francesco De Gregori. These are some of the main news for theEstate Fiorentina, the long summer festival that opens in May and lasts until October. Best sposts for the summer there are the Parco delle Cascine, the Palazzina dell’Indiano PIA, the former Fabbri stables, the new PARC of Fabbrica Europa, the amphitheater, the Quercione meadow, the Visarno with the Florence Rocks at the Sferisterio. And then the Cavea of the Teatro del Maggio, the Manifattura Tabacchi, and new summer sposts along the Arno on the Lungarno del Tempio and Lungarno Pecori Giraldi, where the river will be the main character of the summer nights.

There are nine strategic projects: Florence from above, six musical and theatrical appointments (by Murmuris) between June and August on some of the most beautiful terraces in Florence, from the museum of the Innocenti to the walkway of the Palazzo Vecchio; Secret Florence, the discovery of uncommon places in the city, from 9 to 16 June in collaboration with Pitti Uomo; Open cinemas in the Piazzale degli Uffizi, from 26 June to 8 August; Music on the churchyards of the Florentine churches, from June to August; Florence Dance Festival which returns to Santa Maria Novella with among others Sergei Polunin; Musart Festival in piazza Santissima Annunziata in July; Florence Jazz Festival in Oltrarno and Genius Loci in Santa Croce, both in September. A welcome return also for women’s heritage, a festival created by actress Serena Dandini.
