Swimwear and accessories, all about waterfront elegance this summer

Fashion never takes a holiday, not even in summer, and absolutely not on the beach. The world of beachwear is calling out, and the first to respond, this year, were one-piece swimwear, spanning evergreen classics, bandeau-style swimsuits knotted at the neck, perhaps with a 60s-style waist belt, and one-shoulder swimsuits. Designed to be worn on the beach under a white shirt or T-shirt, enhanced by denim shorts or a floral sarong, they are also the ideal evening wear, an elegant under-jacket bodysuit even in the most seductive versions, which flaunt plunging necklines, paired with Capri-style trousers.

That Coachella mood is contagious!

Especially this year, which presents a very fine divide between beach and city fashion already on the catwalks of leading designers, which have displayed actual swimsuits, looks with a visible bra, straw bags, a cult accessory for beachwear, long kaftans or kimonos used as ideal pieds dans l’eau dresses, and “flip-flops”, which have made an unexpected comeback. They come with variable sole height, including flip-flop versions from the ‘90s, which have already been spotted on the feet of many celebrities.

And what about bikinis? They are ever welcome, especially with a high waisted, somewhat retro design, and ’80s-style high leg cut-out.

Finally, colours play the protagonists of this spring-summer. Bright and lively hues are the choice to enliven both day and evening wear. Cyan sets the trend with its many nuances, all of which are refined and easy to wear, and perfectly blend with the colour of the sea.
