The must-have outerwear for winter 2020/21

Autumn introduces us to the season of outerwear that we will use most in the next months. The trends are really wide, but the watchword that seems to unite them all is definitely deconstructing: loose and comfortable clothing will envelop us like a nest to shelter us from the cold.

But what are the must-haves to keep up with the times? From long cocoon coats, egg-shaped or tight with belts, to double-breasted with low shoulders, from tech down jackets to capes. Black, camel, white, with fringes, in leather and faux fur: here are the most beautiful models spotted on the catwalks.

Coats are definitely the garment we love most: versatile and always in vogue, they can remain in our wardrobe without ever going out of fashion. This year the fashion system wants them long and a little over, or in the overcoat-dressing gown version tightened at the waist to accentuate the feminine silhouette. Don’t be surprised to see them paired with fringes or maxi collars, other winter trends.

The eco-furs are confirmed among the cult pieces: long and super colored are flanked by synthetic sheepskin that create a magical combination of style and comfort.

Quilting makes its big comeback also in outerwear: from blue to moss green, short or in trench version, perfect for everyday looks or to wear in contrast with light and romantic dresses.

The capes will give that retro touch to any outfit. Of great impact if mixed carefully, they are actually not easy to wear: we recommend adding a belt that marks the waist, because the “dracula” effect is always around the corner.

Down jackets have been in the spotlight for a few seasons and remain a field in which designers love to try a more tech style. Ideal for every day, they will also be large and enveloping.

Never like this year everything (or almost) is allowed: autumn/winter fashion is ready to pamper you until 2021 with absolutely hot pieces!
