Alberta Ferretti was born in Cattolica, Rimini, on 2 May 1950. Her mother owned a tailoring shop, so, since she was a child, Alberta nurtured her innate aesthetic sense, which gave births to one of the most renowned brands of Made in Italy fashion. Precious raw materials, select colours and craftsmanship are the brand’s distinctive traits. A humble approach, passion and the ambition of making beautiful things: these are the prime values that have guided Alberta Ferretti since she was young and that still accompany her style today.
Her garments emphasize beauty and femininity, without masking the wearer’s own features. This people-centred approach is intended for a woman who is aware that femininity and sweetness are empowering. Alberta Ferretti’s fashion enhances femininity in a natural, balanced way, with a vision that is both stylistic and entrepreneurial, therefore balancing elegance and function. Her detailed style has been stylistically consistent over time and features romantic decorations that are a nod to historical references and cultural content, but also signs of high tailoring. This vision of fashion has earned her numerous awards, including in 1998 the appointment as Cavaliere del Lavoro by the President of the Italian Republic Oscar Luigi Scalfaro; in 2000 the Honorary Degree in Conservation of Cultural Heritage for refurbishing the Castle of Montegridolfo and, in 2005, the Lifetime Achievement Award and the The Romantics, awarded by Anna Wintour.
