Built following the principles of green architecture, with a modern photovoltaic system and solar panels, the Locanda Rossa fits perfectly into the surrounding natural environment. The use of quintessentially Tuscan red brick color for the exteriors, from which the inn takes its name, reflects the original character of Tuscan rural landscape.
The 12 rooms, 2 suites, 4 apartments and common areas all house contemporary art works as part of the hotel’s concept, including pieces such as Poalo Cannevari’s rubber roses, a Mario Merz herbarium, a landscape by Elgher Esser, Massimo Bartolini china trees and Tristano di Robilant watercolors, giving the Locanda a touch of refined simplicity.
This exclusive setting is complemented by an elegant Spa, a place of quiet and silence where you can prolong the relaxed feeling that exudes in every corner of the venue. This intimate and cozy atmosphere is made up of the contrast between light colors and dull lights, bringing about a sense of complete well being.
This year the Locanda’s restaurant La Cucina is overseen by Valeria Piccini, the chef of the Da Caino restaurant in Montemerano Manciano. Tradition and creativity are at the heart of the restaurant’s gastronomic philosophy. Under the careful guidance of chef Piccini, timeless recipes and local cuisine such as tomato juice and tortelli di Maremma are revisited with a touch of innovation and reproduced in original and imaginative combinations.
